KLÉCO SYSTEM

Privacy Walls and Fences

Not enough privacy on your patio? The Kléco system, a high-quality Quebec-made aluminum product, may be the perfect solution for your outdoor space.

Adding a privacy panel to your patio is ideal for enjoying your space away from your neighbors’ view or for defining your property line. Choosing durable, low-maintenance materials such as aluminum, polyethylene, or PVC helps extend the lifespan of your outdoor privacy screen so you can enjoy your summer instead of maintaining wooden fence. The same system can also be used as a garden fence.

Here are the planning steps

To build a custom privacy wall or fence with the Kléco system

At Dekavie, you will find all the components you need to install your own patio wall or privacy fence. Contact a member of our team for support with your project, or click the yellow button at the bottom of the page to submit a quote request.

Step 1 - Fence or privacy screen?

The two standard formats offered are 6 feet high by 4 or 6 feet wide. However, if your needs are different, it is completely possible to cut the boards and aluminum moldings with a miter saw to adjust the wall to the exact width of your project.

For a privacy fence, choose a 96-inch (8-foot) square aluminum post, since you will need to set 24 inches into the ground to ensure proper stability for your wall. Aluminum posts are available in 36, 48, 72, and 96-inch lengths.

Step 2 - Determine the width of your sections

Depending on the configuration of your patio, your yard, and your choice of materials, select a 4- or 6-foot-wide section to build your outdoor privacy wall or garden fence. Note that if you want a privacy wall with spacers between the boards, the maximum width of the wall will be 4 feet.

Step 3 - Choose the material and color for your privacy wall boards

Option 1 - Dekavie boards

Dekavie boards are solid and made from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, a material known for its stability and durability in outdoor conditions, even in northern climates. Unlike several rigid materials such as PVC, HDPE does not get brittle in cold weather, which significantly reduces the risk of cracking or breaking with temperature fluctuations.

HDPE also offers excellent resistance to impacts and scratches, making it a particularly suitable choice for residential environments where surfaces can be put to the test (pets, furniture, everyday use).

For a finish with spacing between boards, the square-edge option with spacers creates privacy while still allowing air and light to flow through.

The boards are available in black as well as in the six signature Dekavie patio colors, allowing you to perfectly match your privacy walls with your deck for a cohesive, custom result.

GOOD TO KNOW

The color is integrated throughout the material rather than applied on the surface. Combined with UV treatment, this feature results in a maintenance-free product that requires no painting or staining, unlike wood.

Option 2 - PVC boards

Other option available: PVC privacy wall boards.

In addition to being lightweight, they are chosen for their wood-grain board look, while offering the peace of mind of a maintenance-free material.

PRO TIP

Always anchor the posts into wood. In windy areas, it is even recommended to bolt the posts down.
